Discover Kinusaiga, a Japanese-inspired textile art sometimes described as “painting with fabric.” In this hands-on workshop, you’ll transform small pieces of fabric into a colorful, framed, dimensional work of art—no sewing required! Using a provided design, you’ll learn how to transfer the pattern onto foam, cut the design lines, and carefully tuck fabric into the grooves to build your image one piece at a time. It’s a wonderfully satisfying technique that’s part collage, part puzzle, and a great way to give beautiful fabric scraps a new life. You’ll leave class with a finished framed Kinusaiga piece and the tools and know-how to continue making your own designs at home. All materials are included, including the frame, foam, fabric, pattern, and specialty tools. No previous sewing, quilting, or art experience is necessary—just come ready to make something! Registration and Payment: Full payment is required. Minimum Enrollment: Classes usually require a minimum number of students. If the shop cancels the class due to low enrollment you will receive a refund. Copyright Rules: If your class requires a book or pattern, each student will need their own copy. Books and patterns may not be shared per federal copyright law. Cancellations: To receive a full refund, registration must be cancelled 7 days before the class/workshop date. No Shows: No refunds or class makeups are given for not showing up for class. TINT Rescheduling/Cancellations: TINT reserves the right to cancel, change dates/times and change instructors due to insufficient enrolment, scheduling conflicts, or emergencies. TINT also reserves the right to cancel the registration or request the withdrawal of any individual from classes and events for reasons due to the health, safety, or welfare of the group or participant. Class Etiquette and Rules Show up on time. Be prepared. Be respectful of others. Turn off volume on cell phones. Take calls and texting outside. Be a good student. Have fun! Guests and Children: Unenrolled guests, children, or pets are not permitted in the classroom space.
