Intro to Garment Sewing with the Children's Geranium Dress from Made By Rae Join a local sewist in this one-day workshop for a Geranium Dress sew-along. Participants can choose to sew view A or B in a top or a dress. We will be omitting the neckline details, pockets and flutter sleeves for this class. Together, we will learn how to read an indie garment sewing pattern, transfer markings and cut fabric, construct a fully lined bodice and attach a gathered skirt and hem. The aim is for participants to finish the workshop with a completed children's dress by the end of the class. Depending on timing, attendees may need to complete the hemming and button closures at home. This pattern is a great intro to garment sewing. Sewists should be comfortable sewing on their personal machines, including adjusting stitch lengths, back stitching, zig zag stitches, sewing at different stitch lengths and sewing curves. Participants will need to bring their own sewing machines for the class. The pattern is included in the price of the class but the fabric/supplies are not. Please stop by the shop before class to get your pattern, pick your fabrics, and then cut the pattern to your desired size in advance of the class. Call the shop if support is needed. If the shop cancels the class due to low enrollment you will receive a refund. Copyright Rules: If your class requires a book or pattern, each student will need their own copy. Books and patterns may not be shared per federal copyright law. Cancellations: To receive a full refund, registration must be cancelled 7 days before the class/workshop date. No Shows: No refunds or class makeups are given for not showing up for class. TINT Rescheduling/Cancellations: TINT reserves the right to cancel, change dates/times and change instructors due to insufficient enrolment, scheduling conflicts, or emergencies. TINT also reserves the right to cancel the registration or request the withdrawal of any individual from classes and events for reasons due to the health, safety, or welfare of the group or participant. Class Etiquette and Rules Show up on time. Be prepared. Be respectful of others. Turn off volume on cell phones. Take calls and texting outside. Be a good student. Have fun!
